Are you looking for an opportunity to sharpen your training skills? Meet other trainers to learn how they conduct their work? Engage in discussions, debates, and other exercises to deepen your understanding and expand your ideas about training processes? Now you have a  chance to do it!

WMO online training course for trainers in RA-II and RA-V will be offered during the first half of 2017, in English. The 9-week course will be offered over 13 weeks, in three modules with two 2-week breaks, from 20 March to 16 June, 2017. The course can accommodates also the participation of several European training staff, given its format online.

This is a unique opportunity for European NHMSs, Universities and training providers to send their training managers and/or training professionals to sharpen their skills in training methods and techniques. The next WMO training course for trainers focused on RA-VI (thus including Europe) will be only in 2019.

Deadline for applications is 17 February 2017.

The course will be divided into three modules. Depending on the professional profile and development plans of the participant, it is possible to attend only some of the modules. The online course is traditionally followed up by a classroom phase, from where the image has been taken in 2015.

Further details about the course and registration from Patrick Parrish (pparrish@wmo.int).

Course objectives

The goal of this online course is to increase knowledge and skills of WMO Member training professionals in planning, developing, delivering, assessing, and evaluating learning activities. The knowledge and skills gained will contribute to the development of the competencies identified in the WMO Competency Requirements for Education and Training Providers for Meteorological, Hydrological and Climate Services.

Course structure

The course will be divided into three modules. Those in the category of Trainers should complete all three modules. Part-time trainers would need to complete only Module 3.
